The Department of Middle Eastern Studies is delighted to congratulate alumna Jacqueline Vayntrub (PhD, 2015) on two significant professional milestones: being granted tenure at Yale Divinity School and the publication of her second book, Body Language: Voice, Embodiment, and Textuality in the Hebrew Bible (Yale University Press, 2026).
A member of the Yale Divinity School faculty, Dr. Vayntrub was recently recognized by the Yale Jewish Studies Program in celebration of her promotion with tenure and the release of her latest scholarly work. Body Language explores the relationship between voice, embodiment, and textuality in the Hebrew Bible, offering new perspectives on biblical literature and interpretation.
