Gül Banu Kayır Üçsu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on the formation of transnational intellectual circles following the collapse of the Ottoman and Russian Empires and ideas moving across borders. She holds MA degrees in Modern Turkish History (Boğaziçi University, İstanbul) and History with a Research Emphasis in Science and Technology Studies (University of British Columbia, Vancouver).
