NELC is pleased to welcome Sylvia Alajaji as our Spring 2021 Dumanian Visiting Professor. Prof. Alajaji is an Associate Professor of Music at Franklin & Marshall College. She will be teaching NEHC 20235/30235: “Imagining Armenia: Diaspora and the Constitution of Subjectivity” in Spring 2021, which will examine the lens of pivotal musical and other artistic works from the post-genocide Armenian diaspora to challenge understandings of diasporic identity. She will also be delivering a lecture as part of the Dumanian lecture series in the spring quarter.
Prof. Alajaji’s appointment is made possible by the generous support of the Dumanian Armenian Studies Endowment.
