Aslihan Yener is the director of the Amuq Valley Regional Projects in the Antakya area of southern Turkey. She is currently researching the site of Tell Atchana (ancient Alalakh) the capital city of the Kingdom of Mukish (the Amuq) during the Hittite period (Late Bronze Age c. 2000-1200 B.C.). Other excavations which she has directed are Kestel tin mine, Goltepe and Tell Kurdu. Her primary professional interests are archaeometallurgy, technological systems, interregional trade and the rise of regional states.
