نرحب هذا الأسبوع بفنان الصوتيات والملحن والكاتب البحريني حسن الحجيري. حسن حاصل على شهادة دكتوراه الفنون الموسيقية في التلحين الموسيقي من جامعة سيول في كوريا الجنوبية وعلى شهادة الماجستير في التاريخ الاقتصادي من جامعة هيتوتسوباشي في طوكيو. يركز في اعماله وابحاثه على مفهوم "الغيرية"، ومواجهة البنى الفوقية (التاريخية)، وماهية بناء السرديات. مشاريعه وعروضه الفنية-الصوتية تبني على ميوله الاكاديمي للتاريخ ودراسات الموسيقى الإثنوغرافية.
يعمل حسن كملحن وصحفي موسيقي ومدير لشركة التسجيلات "قرار"، وعمل سابقا محاضرا للموسيقى، ومنظما وراعيا وفنان مقيم في عدة مؤسسات فنية. حسن ايضا عازف عود متمرس!
سيقدم حسن محاضرة بعنوان “ثلاث قصص موسيقية من البحرين” وسيتحدث عن الفجري (نوع من الموسيقى الشعبية لغواصي اللؤلؤ)، وعن مجيد مرهون (ملحن الموسيقى الكلاسيكية وناشط سياسي تعلم التلحين في سنوات سجنه)، وعن المغني البحريني علي بحر.

We welcome this week the Bahraini sound artist, composer and writer Hasan Hujairi. His work explores the notion of the outsider, confronting (historiographic) superstructures, and the nature of constructing narratives within time. His projects and sound performances build on his interests in ethnomusicology and historiography.
Hasan holds a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in music composition from Seoul National University, where he researched reorienting the narrative associated with the maverick composer tradition to be more inclusive of composers working outside the Western classical music tradition. He also holds a Masters of Economics from Hitotsubashi University in economic history and regional economics, and wrote his thesis on the significance of conceiving the Gulf region in both its littorals within a Braudelian historiographic framework. He currently works as a composer, music journalist and record label manager. He is also a skilled oud player.
Hasan will be giving a talk titled “Three Stories on Music in Bahrain”. He will present on Fijri (a type of folk music associated with pearl divers), on Majeed Marhoon (a composer of classical music who taught himself how to compose while serving a 22-year prison sentence for his involvement in the Bahraini independence movement), and on the singer Ali Bahar.
