Didi El-Behaedi, PhD Candidate in Egyptian Archaeology, has been awarded a grant from the National Geographic Society to conduct fieldwork in the area of ancient Lake Moeris in the Fayum (Egypt) as a 2022-2023 National Geographic Explorer. Didi’s project entitled, “A Story of Resilience: Ancient Human Adaptation to a Fluctuating Water Source”, seeks to understand how ancient humans responded to prolonged environmental stressors from the shrinking lake through the lens of novel remote sensing (satellite and geophysical-based) and machine-learning techniques.
Congrats, Didi!
