Guy Ehrlich is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago. Previously, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Crown Family Center for Jewish and Israel Studies at Northwestern University and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests include modern Hebrew literature and culture, gender studies, and queer theory. His book, The Empty Places of Yehudit Hendel, explores the works of Yehudit Hendel (1921–2014), one of the most prominent Hebrew writers. The book won the Bahat Prize for Best Original Scholarly Book Manuscript in Hebrew and was published by Haifa University Press (2024). His new project traces the queer historiography of modern Hebrew literature. His articles have been published in Shofar, Jewish Social Studies, Ot: A Journal of Literary Criticism and Theory, Mikan, and Queer Kinship and Comparative Literature.
